The vision for this build was to make the extension feel as though it had always belonged. The clients wanted to double the size of their original 100-plus-year-old villa while preserving its timeless character.
At one end, the master bedroom was extended to create a walk-in wardrobe and ensuite. At the other, the home was expanded to include a new kitchen, office, two bedrooms, laundry, and bathroom.
New double-glazed aluminium windows were installed, with window facings carefully crafted to match the original details. All exterior timber work was laminated and machined onsite to replicate the existing character of the home. Inside, a rimu floor was laid, along with a new kitchen and scullery, and all modern services were seamlessly integrated into this beautiful, enduring residence.
The result is a home that honours its history while offering every comfort of modern living. A true pleasure to see completed, and a build done the way it used to be.
